HU$TLER Hand Painted Denim Jacket (Edition of 3)

Three of these exist. When they're gone, that's it.

This is the first piece from HU$TLER, the first line I'm putting out.

I want to tell you where it came from.

Everyone calls themselves a hustler now. It's in every bio and every caption. At some point I got curious about what the word actually means, so I went back as far as I could go.

A hustler used to be a man with a spear. He walked, he hunted, he gathered whatever he could carry, and that was the whole job. Nothing has really changed since then. Same walk, same face. The only difference is that today he's gathering money instead of food.

Why only three

The blank is a Calvin Klein Jeans denim jacket from a seasonal run that's discontinued. I found what was left and kept one in each size, small, medium and large. That's all there is.

I'm not going to pretend I can make more. When these are gone I'll have to find a different jacket, and it won't be this one. Each piece is numbered on the inside, 1 to 3.

The blank

Calvin Klein Jeans denim jacket in black. 100% cotton, unlined, regular fit, button closure, two chest pockets and two side pockets. I buy them, I paint them, and they have nothing to do with Calvin Klein beyond that. They run generous — the size small fits closer to a normal medium.

The painting

All of it is done by hand, by me. Stencil and spray for the ape on the back, markers for the text. No two come out the same and none of them are perfect. That's the point.

About a week from the day you order.

Care

Wash cold, inside out, or better, don't wash it at all. No dryer. Iron inside out only, never straight onto the paint.
