When I was in high school, I was really into stencil graffiti. I decided to revisit my old passion, and instead of painting walls, do it on clothes.
Past Is In The Future
What does it mean, really? Besides painting clothes, I'm also a music producer, coming up from a hip-hop background. I've always been fascinated with sampling, and that's the technique I use in my productions a lot. Sampling is all about taking an old record and turning it into something entirely new. "Past Is In The Future" encompasses that feeling perfectly. It's all about drawing inspiration from the past, from the great artists that came before you, but at the same time having your eyes on innovation and creating new things.
HU$TLER
The first line of PAST is called HU$TLER. Lately I've been really frustrated with all the consumerism and the bag chasing, the rat race. That's why I decided to mock it.
A hustler today is a hunter gatherer ape in disguise. It's all about gathering resources. Back then it was hunting, today it is getting money. Unfortunately our bodies didn't progress as fast as technology did, so deep down we're still cavemen. You can see it anywhere you look, really.
